Family Party Shoot

On Saturday 14th I popped along to Richard’s 70th Birthday Party at the Northamptonshire County Cricket Ground.

The brief was mainly to get lots of group and family shots and plenty of the grand children plus a few candids from the party for good measure. I had a nice blank wall and corner of the function room, I took along my D-lites… good job too as the sunshines diminished to miserable rain as soon as the party started, so that put paid to the funky bleachers images I had conjured up in my head!

Nevertheless, the children were absolutely amazing… they were oozing character and left me with a smile on my face the duration of the party. I am totally stuck with which ones to share as I loved so many of them so here we are….

Derelict Location Shoot

What a cool day shooting this! I asked Charlotte a few weeks back if she would model for a personal project for me and thankfully she agreed! Charlotte created my stunning thigh tattoo and works at Alternative Art. Whilst there I asked Esme if she would come too. Both girls are super cool and gorgeous and I was very much looking forward to shooting them. Only thing I need was an equally cool location….

Had to be grungy, cool & derelict! I invited Hannah Gray along to do make-up and Jess Doughty another Photographer from college. The girls were awesome and no amount of barbed wire or derelict-ness put them off! Would love to do another shoot with them again…

We spent some time having a little explore… found some penis graffiti and got weirded out by a man with his Alsatian, who turned out to be a chatty guy that lived in the non-derelict part and thankfully not security!

A handful of behind the scenes shots from Jess too…

Thanks girls! you rock!

Ria & Caleb – Quirky Lifestyle Shoot

Brrrr…. it’s a bit nippy isn’t it?! Think back to the mini heatwave we had just a couple of weeks ago at the end of March…. I was meandering across Abington Park with my kids when I spotted Ria. I loved her hair and her style so after having words with myself in my head I walked over and chatted to her about photographing her & her gorgeous blue eyed baby for my portfolio.

A week on from this and we met up at Northampton’s Racecourse for some shots… the sun had dwindled already and it was pretty overcast in comparison to what the weather man had told us!

The gorgeous Caleb was happily snoozing in his pushchair so I got down to business and started shooting Ria on her own. She’s a total natural in front of the camera and turns out she did quite a lot of life modelling whilst Caleb was still in her tum! Also turned out that Hannah a make up artist I worked with on the R Magazine Fashion Shoot is also one of her best mates and God-Mum to little Caleb! Small world eh!?!

So here she is….

Then the little man woke up, pretty much just in time for his time in front of the lens… He was so good considering a) he’s just woken up and b) he had a strange woman (that be me) sticking a huge camera in his face! His eyes are simply amazing, no wonder really with such a gorgeous Mum!
